The 35th Annual Emerald Society Golf outing to benefit Cystic Fibrosis scheduled for Thursday, September, 22, 2022 – has been postponed due to pending inclement weather. A make up date will be messaged out once it is finalized.

At this time it appears that the 2020 NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade is postponed to a undetermined future date. As such the DSNY Emerald Society will not be having its celebration of the Mass and the Breakfast to follow. When a new date is selected the Society will respond in kind. Thank your for your understanding and Slainte.
• There is no February general meeting this month! The next meeting will be Wednesday, March 11th, 2020 at 7pm. We will discuss the upcoming NYC St. Patricks Day Parade up 5th Avenue.
• We would like to invite you out to help us congratulate Director Edward Grayson on the honor of being Deputy Grand Marshall at the Queens County Rockaway St. Patricks Day Parade on March 7th.
• Also Volunteers are needed March 16th and 17th for the evening before and the morning of St. Patrick’s Day to help set up, cook and serve breakfast, and clean up afterwards at Holy Cross Church. If you could be so kind to lend a hand please contact President Sean M. Neal. His contact info is on the flyer below.

For those who were not able to make the mass before the parade Saturday, we wanted to share Director Grayson’s inspirational speech.
We just want to thank all the bosses and co-workers and most of all the families who came out Saturday to the Mass, Breakfast, and Parade and helped make it a successful, positive day of celebrating our Irish Culture. Without you our members the lifeblood of the organization we could not make this possible! We look forward to seeing you at our other upcoming events.

Saturday, March 16, 2019, the Department’s Emerald Society will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The day begins at 0900 hours with a Mass at Holy Cross Church, located on the north side of W 42nd St. between 8th and 9th Avenues.
Following the Mass The Emerald Society will provide breakfast in the lower Church of Holy Cross.
LOCATION OF FORMATION:

At 12:00 hours the Emerald Society Pipe & Drum Band along with the Department’s marching contingent, will line up on W 45th St. between 5th and 6th Avenues. Step off is scheduled for 1230 hours.
The Saint Patrick’s Day Parade is a traditional marching parade, therefore anyone marching in the parade MUST WEAR APPROPRIATE ATTIRE. INDIVIDUALS WITH PAINTED FACES OR ABNORMAL COLORED HAIR (GREEN, GOLD ETC..) WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO MARCH IN THE PARADE.
***ALL OFFICERS ATTENDING THE PARADE WILL WEAR THEIR CLASS “A” UNIFORM.***
Limited parking will be available for personnel who will be marching at:
**57 St – Manhattan 7 (Fourth floor)
